On Wednesday, Egypt emphasized the importance of providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and moving forward with early recovery projects without Palestinians leaving the Gaza Strip.
Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdel Aty, reaffirmed his country's full support for the Palestinian government and its reform plans, stressing the importance of politically and economically empowering the Palestinian Authority and assuming its duties in the Gaza Strip as part of the occupied Palestinian territories.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Tamim Khalaf, stated that Abdel Aty's remarks came during his meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa.
In a statement, Abdel Aty outlined Egypt's efforts to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the implementation of all its provisions in three phases.
Regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza, it was emphasized during the meeting the importance of moving forward with early recovery projects and the removal of debris, and accelerating the delivery of humanitarian aid, without Palestinians leaving the Gaza Strip, especially given their attachment to their land and refusal to leave it.
The Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister presented a comprehensive plan for early recovery programs and debris removal in cooperation with international institutions, paving the way for the reconstruction phase and the return to normalcy, which was met with agreement.
Minister Abdel Aty stressed Egypt's support for the inalienable legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, emphasizing the necessity of pursuing a permanent and just political solution to the Palestinian issue through the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, to prevent the recurrence of cycles of violence permanently.
