Egypt to Netanyahu: Saudi Arabia's Security is a Red Line

post

Egypt condemned the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said that a Palestinian state could be established in Saudi Arabia, claiming that they have "vast spaces." In a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Saturday, February 8, 2025, Egypt condemned "in the strongest terms the irresponsible and entirely rejected statements issued by the Israeli side, which incite against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and demand the establishment of a Palestinian state on Saudi lands, constituting a direct affront to Saudi sovereignty and a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter." The statement affirmed Egypt's "complete rejection of these reckless statements that affect the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom," stressing that the security and respect for the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a red line that Egypt will not allow to be crossed. The stability and national security of Saudi Arabia is integral to Egypt's and the Arab world's security and stability, which cannot be compromised. Egypt emphasized that these unrestrained Israeli statements towards Saudi Arabia are a reprehensible transgression and an assault on all established diplomatic norms, infringing upon the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia and the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the entirety of their national territory in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem according to the June 4, 1967 lines. Egypt reaffirmed its full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against these reckless statements and called on the international community to fully condemn and denounce them.
