Today, Saturday, at the Monastir International Exhibition Space, a point of sale from the producer to the consumer was opened, with the participation of 33 exhibitors in various sectors (including a local company in traditional industries) compared to 25 exhibitors last year. The Governor of Monastir, Issa Moussa, stated to the "TAP" agency, on the sidelines of the opening, that the prices of vegetables, fruits, poultry meat, milk and its derivatives, etc., are reasonable and well-studied in this space, stressing the need for these prices to be a reference point here. For his part, Ahmed Methlouthi, Regional Director of Commerce and Export Development in Monastir, explained that the displayed products cover almost all sectors, including vegetables, fruits, poultry, fish, milk and its derivatives, mineral water, coffee (200 kg daily), general foodstuffs, salts, cleaning materials, sweets, traditional food items, honey, and dates. Starting next Tuesday, packaged olive oil will also be available at standard prices, considering the prices to be very acceptable compared to those in the markets. The Regional Director of Commerce and Export Development also noted that commerce departments recorded a decrease of 5-10 percent in wholesale prices for vegetables and fruits in the wholesale market in Moknine, which he considers very reasonable and has a positive impact on retail prices. He added that the quantity of vegetables and fruits brought to the wholesale market in Moknine today reached 570 tons, while the quantity of fish at the wholesale fish market at the Tablaba fishing port reached 80 tons, expecting the fish quantities to increase next week with the improvement of weather conditions. For his part, Mustafa Ben Taqia, Head of the Regional Union of Industry, Trade and Traditional Industries in Monastir, confirmed that the union asked some companies to further reduce some prices at the point of sale from producer to consumer, which witnessed a large turnout today. He said that the organization will monitor the regularity of supply at this point daily and will intervene to provide the necessary quantities in case of shortage, noting that the point of sale from producer to consumer will initially continue until the 15th of Ramadan with the possibility of extension.
