The General Coordinator of the Tunisian Federation of Artisans and Small and Medium Enterprises, Sahbi Hadhfi, considered the "new check law to be 60% incomplete." In a media statement during a meeting held on Saturday in Sfax, organized by the Tunisian Federation of Artisans and Small and Medium Enterprises, concerning the "old situation of the check law," he called for "the amendment of Law No. 41 of 2024, the return to Article 6 with partial or free settlement, the speeding up of procedures, the halting of judicial proceedings, the scheduling of debts, the cancellation of bank classification, and the lifting of travel bans, under the title of passing a general legislative amnesty initiative to guarantee the beneficiary's right." He clarified that "contrary to what is being discussed in narrow and expanded ministerial councils about the appropriate ground for small and medium enterprises, the situation of these enterprises is unsuitable. They have been harmed since the COVID-19 crisis, and the settlement procedures concerning the new check law issued on August 2, 2024, in the Official Gazette, are still very stalled." It is noteworthy that during this meeting, many affected by the new check law were heard.
