Sectoral Strike in Secondary Education

post

The sectoral administrative body of secondary education decided, at the conclusion of its meeting held yesterday, Tuesday, to carry out a sectoral strike in secondary education on Wednesday, February 26. This was announced by the Secretary General of the General University of Secondary Education, Mohamed Al-Safi. Al-Safi explained in a statement today, Wednesday, to (TAP) that the approval of this strike comes in response to the "reneging" by the Ministry of Education on implementing what remains pending in the 2019 and 2023 agreements, which aim to improve the working conditions of teachers and achieve some financial demands, in addition to issues related to educational reforms and the development of secondary education. He also attributed the approval of this strike to the Ministry of Education's refusal to enact a law criminalizing assaults on teachers in educational institutions and their surroundings, in addition to involving the judiciary in all educational and pedagogical issues, as well as in the decisions of educational and disciplinary councils, according to what the Secretary General of Secondary Education University stated to (TAP).
