The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip announced the return of 300,000 displaced Palestinians to the north since the morning of Monday, January 27, 2025, after being allowed to cross under a ceasefire agreement.
The office explained that 300,000 displaced persons returned from the southern and central governorates to the Gaza and northern governorates via Al-Rashid Street (west) and Salah Al-Din Street (east), after being away from their land for 15 months, according to Al Jazeera Net.
On Sunday evening, the occupation army announced that it would allow Palestinians to return on foot to the northern Gaza Strip via the Netsarim route (central), and through Al-Rashid Street, while vehicle movement to the northern sector will be allowed after inspection through Salah Al-Din Street.
After some hesitation, the occupation army removed the barriers it had set up in the Netsarim corridor in the center of the sector, which had separated the north of the sector from the rest of its parts since October 2023.
