Béja: The Return to the Normal Supply Rate of Liquefied Gas Cylinders Soon

post

Imed Snadid, the regional director of commerce in Béja, stated that the normal supply rate of household liquefied gas cylinders in the governorate will return in the near future following the implementation of a special program to distribute liquefied gas cylinders to combat the cold wave. He indicated that the currently recorded shortage is slight.

He explained that the supply rate is currently stable at around 10,325 gas cylinders per day, after it had decreased at the end of last year to less than 7,000 cylinders per day due to the slowdown in supply resulting from the delayed arrival of gas shipments at the national level. He pointed out that a monitoring cell for gas supply has been formed, including several stakeholders, among them security and commerce departments.

He said that the regional authorities worked on pumping significant quantities of liquefied household gas and directing it to areas that experienced a severe shortage of this material due to low temperatures and high demand. This was done by intervening with several suppliers to speed up the pace of securing the region's needs during this peak usage period, especially for home heating.

It is worth noting that during the past period, especially in the second half of December, a severe shortage of compressed liquefied gas in cylinders was recorded, particularly in the areas of Nefza, Amdoun, and Testour, due to the high demand for this material following the drop in temperatures.
