Los Angeles Weather Office: Southern California faces a dangerous situation

post

The Los Angeles Weather Office of the National Weather Service issued a rare warning on Sunday evening of an "especially dangerous situation" lasting until Wednesday noon for parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, warning that strong winds could cause an "explosive fire."

The Weather Service advises residents to "use multiple ways to receive evacuation information" and to "avoid doing anything that might ignite a fire."

According to Axios, the areas under this warning do not include the Eaton Fire but cover West Santa Monica, Simi Valley, Porter Ranch, Ventura, and other severely affected areas.

The winds during this event are expected to be similar to strong Santa Ana winds, with speeds of 50 to 70 miles per hour instead of the 100 miles per hour experienced last week.
