New York Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has introduced a bill to make President Donald Trump's birthday, June 14th, a federal public holiday. Tenney named the proposed legislation the "Trump's Birthday and Flag Day Holiday Act," aiming to recognize Trump's birthday and Flag Day, both celebrated as federal public holidays.
In a post on the platform "X" yesterday, Monday, Tenney explained her reason for submitting this bill, saying, "Just as George Washington's birthday is designated as a federal holiday, President Trump's birthday should also be celebrated to honor him as the founder of America's golden age."
In another post, after introducing the bill, Tenney praised Trump's impact on Americans, saying, "There has never been a president in modern times more influential on our country than Donald Trump." She added, "I have introduced legislation to make Trump's Birthday and Flag Day a federal holiday, ensuring that President Trump's contributions to America's greatness are commemorated forever."
Tenney's bill represents the latest attempt by Republican lawmakers to honor Trump and some of his "America First" policies.
