A number of excluded PhD researchers organized a peaceful protest today, Thursday, at the Government Square in the Kasbah, demanding a "radical, comprehensive, and legal solution to end all forms of precarious employment, exploitation contracts, and disguised slavery." The participants in this movement, in a statement published during the protest, called for "accelerating their integration into the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and other ministries and public institutions, taking into account age, the year of obtaining the PhD, and social status according to the outcomes of the electronic platform 'Mansty'." The PhD holders also stressed the "necessity of amending laws to allow the regularization of the status of PhD holders employed in the public and private sectors," demanding "the conversion of the incidental and additional hours in the Ministry of Higher Education and other ministries into permanent positions for the benefit of PhD researchers," according to the same statement.
