Meeting Between the Tunisian Minister of Health and a Palestinian Medical Delegation

The Minister of Health, Mustafa Al-Farjani, met today, Friday, at the ministry headquarters with a Palestinian medical delegation in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and officials from the Ministry of Health to discuss strengthening health cooperation between Al-Najah University Hospital and Al-Najah Medical University in Palestine. The two parties agreed during the meeting to develop cooperation in academic and field training, scientific research, and the exchange of expertise and information, as well as the twinning of health institutions. The discussions also covered ways to develop training and formation fields through receiving Palestinian resident doctors and trainees in various specialties in Tunisian health institutions and training Palestinian medical cadres in thoracic surgery, pediatrics, gastroenterology, organ transplantation, and other fields. It was agreed to exchange expertise, particularly in developing Palestinian health care systems, benefiting from the Tunisian experience in academic formation and clinical training. The Minister of Health affirmed Tunisia's unwavering support for the Palestinian health sector, emphasizing the importance of supporting the efforts of Palestinian health professionals to improve health services and restructure the health system, especially after the war on Gaza. The meeting was attended by a representative from the Palestinian Embassy in Tunisia, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Tunisia, and several ministry officials.
