Units of the National Guard, in cooperation with counter-terrorism units in Monastir, Sidi Bouzid, and Gabes, arrested three extremist elements who were the subject of search warrants and had prison sentences issued against them for belonging to a terrorist organization. According to a statement issued by the General Directorate of the National Guard on Monday, January 13, 2025, the units of the National Guard in Teboulba, in cooperation with the counter-terrorism units in the Monastir region, managed to arrest an extremist element wanted by the Tunis Primary Court for belonging to a terrorist organization and sentenced to prison.

In Sidi Bouzid, the units of the National Guard, in cooperation with the counter-terrorism units, managed to arrest an extremist element wanted by various security units and judicial structures for "belonging to a terrorist organization" and sentenced to prison.

Additionally, the units of the National Guard in Mareth, in cooperation with the counter-terrorism units in the Gabes region, managed to arrest a person wanted by various security units and judicial structures for belonging to a terrorist organization and sentenced to 42 years in prison.

These elements were handed over to the specialized units to take the necessary legal measures against them after coordination with the Public Prosecution.

The General Directorate of the National Guard indicated in its statement that these operations come in the context of ongoing efforts to confront extremist groups, calling on citizens to cooperate with security units and report any suspicious activities to enhance public security and maintain the safety of the nation and citizens at the number 71860135.
