The National Institute of Meteorology stated in a follow-up bulletin published today, Thursday, that thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected later today in the southeast, especially in the governorates of Medenine and Sfax. The institute estimated that the daily rainfall rate could reach between 40 and 60 millimeters, gradually extending during the night to the coast, Kairouan, Cap Bon, Zaghouan, and Greater Tunis, with significant amounts locally reaching up to 80 millimeters.
According to the institute, the rain will continue throughout tomorrow, Friday, in the north and center regions, with heavy rainfall especially in the northern governorates, ranging between 30 and 50 millimeters, and reaching up to 70 millimeters in the extreme northwest, with snowfall expected on the mountains of the governorates of Kef, Siliana, and Kasserine.
