Tunisian FM received the New Representative of UNIDO to Tunisia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad stated that the Minister, Nabil Ammar, received today, Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the headquarters of the ministry, the new Representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Tunisia, Mr. Lassaad Ben Hassine.

During this meeting, Mr. Lassaad Ben Hassine presented the official notification of his appointment to the Minister.

The meeting focused on the cooperation between Tunisia and UNIDO, which dates back more than 30 years and encompasses a wide range of initiatives and projects, aimed at promoting inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

From his side, the Minister expressed the wish to see UNIDO provide more support to Tunisia's efforts to implement its new Strategy for Industrialization and Innovation by 2035, adopted in 2022 which would strengthen Tunisia's anchoring in global value chains, the Ministry stated.

The UNIDO Representative also expressed the willingness to further strengthening the cooperation between his organization and Tunisia.
