The National Meteorological Institute expects that the weather on Sunday and Monday will be conducive to rain in the north and center, with thunderstorms and occasional heavy rainfall, especially in the northern coastal areas, along with a noticeable drop in temperatures.
The institute stated in its update that the daily rainfall total could range between 30 and 50 millimeters, and locally up to 60 millimeters in areas of the far northwest, with the possibility of hail in limited areas and strong winds temporarily reaching 80 km/h in gusts.
Temperatures will be low in most regions of the country, with maximums ranging between 0 and 14 degrees Celsius and not exceeding 6 degrees in highlands. Minimum temperatures will generally range between 4 and 8 degrees and between 0 and 3 degrees in the western highlands, with snowfall in areas exceeding 800 meters in height.
