Revenue from Tunisian Date Exports Rises by 11.4%

The revenue from Tunisian date exports rose by 11.4%, reaching 342.2 million dinars by the end of December 2024, compared to the same period last year, according to data published by the National Agriculture Observatory on Wednesday.

The quantity of dates exported during the first three months of the 2024/2025 season (up to the end of December 2024) amounted to 51.3 thousand tons, an increase of 10.5% compared to the same period of the previous season. The average price recorded by the end of December 2024 rose by 0.7%, reaching 6.67 dinars/kg compared to 6.62 dinars/kg at the end of December 2023.

Morocco was the main destination for Tunisian dates in December 2024, accounting for 19.7% of the exported quantities, followed by Italy and Turkey with 7.5% and 6.8%, respectively. The revenue from organic dates during the first three months of the 2024/2025 season was estimated at 18.9 million dinars for a quantity of about 1,901 tons, with an average price of 9.94 dinars/kg.

The share of organic dates in total Tunisian date exports is 3.7% in terms of quantity and 5.5% in terms of value, according to the National Agriculture Observatory. Germany is the primary destination for organic date products, accounting for 25% of the exported quantities, followed by the Netherlands and Switzerland with 19% and 14%, respectively.
